PM Officially Opens our Junior School
The Prime Minister, Mr John Key, offically opened our Junior School on Wednesday 27 July.
Our New Junior School
There aren't many schools boasting a classroom block with a roof deck overlooking a park and a slide from the rooftop to a green courtyard below.
The world is a big place for small adventurers.
That’s why Cathedral Grammar’s Junior School is committed to providing the navigation skills, knowledge and confidence for a lifetime of discovery.
At three, the budding adventurers have their first taste of the possibilities of the world (aided by older, wiser adventurers).
Young people for whom even the biggest sky is no limit. People who want to pursue new possibilities, discover new domains and find new frontiers.
It’s an all-too-rare word these days.
It’s sometimes hard to define, yet so easy to know when you see it.
In a Cathedral Grammar girl or boy it’s as recognisable as their distinctive uniform.
When it's a century of scholarships, it's even more cause for celebration. In the first decade of the 21st century alone, Cathedral Grammar boys and girls were awarded no fewer than 100 scholarships to secondary schools.
As they move beyond engineering school and into the wide world, they are taking something they treasure more than any scholarship or qualification.
The ability to think.
To put Cathedral Grammar's heritage in context, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary before other well-known private preparatory schools in Christchurch had opened their doors.
One primary school habitually provides more Canterbury hockey representatives than any other. The roots of this sporting tradition go back to the start of Cathedral Grammar and are expressed in many sporting achievements - and achievers.
Every week there are more than 300 individual instrumental music, speech and drama lessons in addition to the usual class lessons. The depth and scope of this training is a springboard to a dazzling array of creative outputs.
Welcome to The Cathedral Grammar School, and to ‘the ideal preparation’ for your child for the future!
With a 130-year plus history, Cathedral Grammar is the longest established, private primary school in New Zealand. We take huge pride in the varied, successful and happy lives of the boys and girls who have experienced ‘Grammar’ over that time.
The Cathedral Grammar School provides high quality education pre-school, primary school and intermediate aged girls and boys. Cathedral Grammar is an Anglican independent school, offering parents choice in the selection of a school to best suit their child's needs.
