Our School Intermediate School
At The Cathedral Grammar School, education in Years 4-8 is provided by two specialist single-sex preparatory schools.
The Girls' Prep School and the Boys' Prep School operate as two separate, but in every way parallel, schools. Research has shown that children respond more positively when teaching methods actively engage their gender. This is because girls and boys develop at different rates and in different ways, both cognitively and socially. Both prep schools are located on the one campus, providing opportunities for interaction.
Year 7/8 is a popular entry point to the school, as parents recognize the benefit of focused preparation to ensure that their child will be well equipped to gain entry to, and embrace the new challenges of, the secondary school of their choice.
