The Cathedral Grammar School welcomes international students and the benefits that arise from having New Zealand and international pupils learning together. Due to the excellent educational reputation of The Cathedral Grammar School, pressure on the school roll is strong and this may result in limited vacancies.
The School’s international student policy allows for a maximum of two international students to be enrolled per class – this is to ensure that the appropriate teacher support can be given to the pupil without adversely affecting curriculum delivery for the remainder of the class.
The school requires international students to undertake additional English language (ESOL) tuition if their ability to speak and understand English is not appropriate to their age. The requirement to undertake this tuition is at the sole discretion of the Headmaster. No additional charges will apply for this ESOL tuition.
The International Student Levy is $7,500 GST incl per annum, payable in addition to the standard tuition fee.
The school requires that the International Student must live with at least one parent (not a Guardian or Caregiver). Failure to adhere to this rule will result in the immediate withdrawal of the international student from the school and loss of any fees paid in advance.
