The Cathedral Grammar School has a good mixture of new buildings and fully renovated older ones.  The Pre-School, library and information technology centre, Girls’ Prep School and administration buildings were all built after 2000. The buildings housing the Boys’ Prep School, Junior School and the music department have been extensively refurbished to produce comfortable, modern learning environments. 

St Saviour’s, our historic chapel, is located in the centre of the school site, and is used extensively by all departments.

Both hard surface (artificial turf and asphalt basketball/netball courts) and grassed playgrounds are located on the school site. Extensive use is also made of the numerous courts and sports playing fields on neighbouring Hagley Park.

The Cathedral Grammar School is conveniently located close to Christchurch's central business district, allowing working parents to more easily drop off and pick-up children, and visit the School on special occasions.
